As a Community Interest Company (CIC), radio.wales is built to amplify—not replace—the independent voices of Wales. We provide the national platform and infrastructure needed to turn hyperlocal broadcasting into a powerful, unified network. Our mission is to support smaller groups, filling the gaps in coverage to ensure every community has a voice.  We would like to partner with other local radio broadcasters in Wales, our mission is to amplify, not compete or replace. The beauty of network.wales or radio.wales is that it is governed by a CIC. In light of this, radio.wales is only able to partner with other CIC status broadcasters, or informal groups of people - non profit

Update 07/2025  Due to increasing server costs and demand on resources, radio.wales has temporarily shelved the function / software. Hopefully this will return in the future when servers are upgraded.

Powys County Council is inviting communities to apply for road closures, free of charge, to allow them to hold communal street parties in celebration of the coronation of His Majesty The King.

The coronation celebrations are happening between 6 – 8 May 2023 with an extra bank holiday weekend providing the opportunity for communities to come together to celebrate this historic occasion.

During the long weekend, people are being invited to organise their own street parties and host a ‘Coronation Big Lunch’ to brings neighbours and communities together to share friendship, food and fun.

Cllr Jackie Charlton, Cabinet Member for a Greener Powys, said: “Applying for a closure for a street party would normally attract an administration fee but the council has once again decided to waive the fee to help communities celebrate this momentous occasion.

“From a cup of tea with a neighbour to a street party, a Coronation Big Lunch brings the celebrations to our neighbourhoods and is a great way for us all to get to know our communities a little better in a nationwide act of celebration and friendship.”

For more information on getting involved with the coronation celebrations, please visit www.CoronationBigLunch.com

To process applications for street parties and subsequent road closures in time, any individual or group who intend to hold a community event on a public highway in Powys, must let the council know by 12 March 2023.

An application form and further information can be obtained by contacting the council’s Traffic Section by emailing [email protected]
