radio.wales is a Community Interest Company (CIC) with a clear mission: to support and grow the grassroots radio landscape across our nation. We believe that the most important stories are told by the people living them, not by large media corporations.
Amplify, Not Replace
Our goal is never to compete with or eliminate existing local radio groups. Instead, we are here to amplify them. We recognise the incredible work that small, independent broadcasters do for their towns and valleys. We want to provide the digital platform and national network needed to make those local voices louder and more sustainable.
Partnering with Fellow CICs
We are actively looking to partner with other CIC radio broadcasters across Wales. As social enterprises, we share a common goal: prioritising community benefit over shareholder profit. By working together, we can:
Share technical resources and expertise.
Create a unified national network that smaller stations can plug into.
Ensure that “radio deserts” in Wales are filled with authentic local content.

radio.wales is about the “normal person.” We are dedicated to helping local volunteers, enthusiasts, and community leaders get on the airwaves. While corporate radio continues to centralise and consolidate, we are pushing in the opposite direction—keeping broadcasting local, accessible, and firmly in the hands of the community.
